Madla Milestones
At Frank L. Madla Early College High School, we believe in community. We know that our scholars achievement is impacted by the support they receive. To that end, we make a deliberate effort to gather our community to celebrate the significant phases of our students’ academic journey that we have coined, the Madla Milestones.
Pinning Ceremony: To symbolize the beginning of students and families commitment to FLMECHS, a pin is awarded to each scholar that symbolizes the three part pact between school, students and parents.
College Ready: When our scholars are ready to begin college coursework, usually in the 9th grade, we gather as a community to commemorate this stage in the journey. Scholars receiving a journal that allows students to begin ‘writing their story’ as they begin their college journey while in high school.
Letterman Milestone: Scholars are awarded a Varsity Letter when they have earned 15 college hours. This milestone commemorates the amount of college hours that a traditional college student earns during their first semester. We are proud to celebrate this milestone for our students who have earned this status while in high school.
Mi Exito, Su Orgullo: At the annual Senior dinner, a serape stole is given from the students to a parent or any adult who has played an integral role in the student’s success.
Graduation: This special event gather our entire New Frontiers Public Schools community in commencement and celebration of the end of the students high school experience at FLMECHS, and transition to the next phase of their academic life.
